Innovations And New Technologies Change The World And Everyday Life.

Innovations and new technologies change the world and everyday life. Much of what was still a dream of the future yesterday is a reality today. We are now surround by technology in every moment of our lives.

We use technology to share information, wash our clothes, prepare our meals, and move from one place to another. But even everyday objects like door locks, floor panels and furniture are technologies we take for granted today and find less impressive than self-driving cars or 3D printing. But what exactly do we mean by technologies, and what types of technologies are there?

What Does The Word Technology Mean?

What do we mean by technology today? When we hear the period, we often think of innovations in communication. Or we imagine visions of the future reminiscent of science fiction films. We automatically think of electrically powered objects, which are usually complex when it comes to everyday life. But technology doesn’t have to be complicated. In short, we use technology whenever we use scientific knowledge to achieve a specific goal, be it in commerce or our daily existence. From the discovery of the wheel to processers and MP3 players to the latest technologies such as self-driving cars, countless technological innovations have shaped everyday life and will continue to do so in the future.

What Types Of Technologies Are There?

There are different types of technologies. As the name suggests, core technologies are the foundation of our industry. They have not only been tested theoretically and in the laboratory but have also been in use for years. For example, core technologies are combustion engines and transistors and the power grid. Basic technologies are of outstanding importance for industry and business. Ideally, new technology will emerge as the core technology at some point. Key Skills are the key to further development in a specific technology area. Key technologies are at the centre of scientific research. They are sufficiently studied to allow practical application, but not to the point where all potential applications can be fully realize. Examples of key technologies are bioinformatics, image recognition and robotics, and solar energy and hybrid technologies.

Rhythm technologies are not yet ready for use but are more than just visions of the future. They already have an applied application and can be further developed into key technologies. Stimulus technologies often involve very risky investments. Examples of beat-making technologies are neuroinformatics, genetic engineering, and nanotechnology. Emerging skills still in the research stage are refer to as future technologies.

The key, exciting and future technologies are refer to as new technologies. They are essential for the continuous development of society and the competitiveness of companies.

The Negative Impact Of  Innovations and new technologies

On Society

The negative effects of technology on society relate to the mass production that is most often affected: social media. Much investigation has been done on how social media is the list as the number one place for misinformation, hate speech and bullying on the one hand and a place where people feel isolated and depressed on the other. . .

Fake News And Disinformation

Fake news and misrepresentation have been with us for quite some time, but with rapidly changing technological advances, people find it difficult to keep up with what is true and what is not.

61% of the 2020 Edelman Barometer admitted that technological change is too fast. 57% believe digital media platforms are taint with unreliable info. And afterwards, the Cambridge Analytica scandal, 76% of people fear fake news will use as polarization and radicalization weapon. The pandemic has combined this, which has caused a boom in fake news and increased confusion and uncertainty among the global population.

Deepfakes are an example of a relatively new threat and a major problem for all social media platforms. Many deepfake incidents have already happened. Recently, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Dutch Parliament that tricked into making a video call with a deepfake posing as a Russian opposition leader. No real damage this time. However, it was a quick lesson that illustrates a potential threat to the future.

To combat deep fake videos, Facebook launched a deepfake detection challenge in 2019 to develop autonomous algorithmic detection systems.

Social media platforms generally struggle with content moderation. In early 2021, Twitter launched a “Birdwatch” pilot program to create a community to combat misinformation and fake news.

The Influence Innovations and new technologies Of Social Television On The Mental Health Of Persons

Social media is all about instant gratification. All notifications in the app are there to attract and scroll a person to the app. According to neuroscientists at Freia Universität Berlin, social media notifications (especially likes, followers, etc.) activate our brain’s reward system.

Numerous studies have shown that exposure to social media can lead to feelings of loneliness and detachment. The colloquial expression FOMO (fear of missing out) is directly related to the intensive use of social networks. It refers to a condition where a being is inundate with content from friends, colleagues, or even influencers doing exciting things. At the same time, their life or activities seem mundane and slightly worse. This is especially damaging at a young age because, even though people are aware that the content they are watching is just a collection of highlights from a person’s life, they still feel alone and lost subconsciously of Innovations and new technologies
